Book Review: Someone to Love

My rating: 3.5 stars
A lovely romance for the heart.
A tale of love, friendship, family and second chances. Neither full of angst, nor peppered with edge-of-the-seat action. Just a normal little story about real things that happen to real people. Fun, endearing and absolutely relatable.
Two people in love followed different paths, away from each other, focusing on their careers. Until the day a high school reunion brings them together again.
When Jenna comes home to take care of her Mom after knee surgery, the last thing on her mind is falling in love. The past few months have this career driven woman rethinking her career choices. She needs a break from her job as a corporate attorney and needs time with her family and friends. After agreeing to go to her ten year high school reunion, Jenna decides to take her small town by storm never expected her high school crush would knock her off her feet.
Don doesn’t want to let the shy girl he remembers from high school get away this time and makes it his mission to win her over. But things are never quite as easy as they seem, especially since Don has only two weeks of leave, after which his path may lead yet again straight to the other corner of the world, away from Jenna.
"If we don't take this chance we will always think, what if."
That is what Jenna tries to convince herself. But distance is a big hurdle at times and being together may require more sacrifices than either of them is willing to take.
Fast-paced and endearing and with a decidedly real-seeming cast and setting, 'Someone to Love' is a little feel-good read that's both engaging and absolutely relatable.
My only complaint is towards the narrative, that didn't flow very well at times. But then, that was just me.
If you're in a mood for a little down-to-earth feel-good romance, give this one here a try.
It is really lovely!
