The Secret Sanctuary by Shively, T.L.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Adventure, mystery, magical powers, mythical creatures and even gods, beautifully entwined into a unique tale with a modern fairytale like feel.

Seven teenagers win a trip to what was supposed to be the most sought-after summer camp for teens, but end up in 'a world that belonged between the pages of a fairy tale.'

Their first week is spent 'running through an obstacle course any military drill sergeant would drool over and being yelled at by a centaur.' In a Secret Sanctuary they are meant to protect because they are descendants of Gods. Not only that, but they have godly powers of their own.

Their initial reaction to all of it? A genuine conviction the place is nothing but a scam 'run by someone who should have been taken away in a white coat.'
But facts don't lie and revelations keep on coming. So our young troop of teens must not only learn to harness their emerging powers, but also protect innocent lives from a malevolent enemy who longs to enslave the world and drain it of its magic - The Shadow Master.

'No Guardian has ever faced the Shadow Master and lived. But that evil relic has never faced Telara and her friends. Call forth Mount Olympus, there's a new band of Demi-gods in town. And they refuse to be swallowed by shadows like those who came before them.'

Fast paced and enchanting, full of fun, mystery and action, The Secret Sanctuary is one tale that will appeal to any YA fantasy fan out there.
Great characters and quirky banter are bound to put a smile on your lips, while the intriguing plot will keep you engaged up to the very end.

It's fun, unique and enchanting.
