Chasing Pebbles by Blaedel, Felicia

My rating: 5 sweet stars

This is such a lovely read with such an incredibly real feel!! I absolutely LOVED it!

To anyone who's struggling with being their true self. To anyone worrying about filtering their personalities, not being good enough or being labeled against their will. You are allowed to be exactly who you are, with all your silly, odd, or opposing characteristics.

And this, my friends, is exactly what this beautiful book is about. Young people struggling with being their true self because of labels and gossip, rumors and preconception. All beautifully entwined into a sweet and heartfelt story of friendship, love and self-discovery.

Frida and Oliver were best friends, until gossip, rumors and betrayal tore them apart. And Frida left, without looking back. But one year later she is forced to return to the place that almost broke her. Determined to hold onto resentment and anger, she bottles up the hurt and hopes for time to pass faster. After all, she only has to face her dreaded past for a single summer. But what Frida didn't count on, was her former best friend Oliver.

Frida had been Oliver's favorite human but things went wrong along the way and now he's determined to make it right. Especially because guilt he can't seem to shake of. And he is doing his best to turn the summer Frida so dreaded into one she'll hope will never end.

Chasing Pebbles is a new adult friends to lovers romance that had me hooked from the very first chapters. From characters to background and even drama and sweet moments, everything it depicts seems incredibly real. This could really be anyone's story.

Felicia Blaedel gives us here a sweet and beautifully written love story, full of feeling and charm. Set on idyllic background and complemented by real-seeming quirky characters, all flawed and imperfect, just like each and every one of us out there; her novel will give the reader that lovely feeling of watching a wonderful movie.

If you are ever in a mood for a feel good sweet tale with meaning and lots of feeling, Chasing Pebbles would be the perfect choice.

May it put a smile on your lips and charm your heart, the way it did for me.

A warm thank you to the author for the ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
