Fae Nightmare by Wilson, K.L. Sarah

My rating: 5 twisted and tangled stars

Damn! I've fallen in love! With a twisted fae and a little nightmare!
This series just gets better and better with each book.

'Look too long at the tangled ones and you'll find yourself tangled too. Grow too angry at the injustices done to you, and you'll find yourself becoming unjust. Harden your heart too much against the cruelties done against you and you will soon be cruel. But let yourself bleed, let yourself ache, let yourself be maligned, let yourself shed hot tears of sorrow, and from your pain and sorrow will spring up fresh life.'

Allie Hunter is back home, after loosing ten years in the blink of an eye. The town she grew up in has changed. Alas, not for the better. Now Allie needs to battle conflicting loyalties, the censure of the townspeople, as well as her own broken family; all the while knowing she may be the only thing standing in the way of a brutal war with the fae. The clock is ticking and the monsters are coming. But who are the monsters after all?

'Twisted by anger, twisted by pain, twisted by death and twisted by hands. They were all twisted. And I was becoming twisted too.

In a human world where the cruelty rivals that of the fae, Allie needs to stand strong and craft a trap good enough to stop the coming fae army, while escaping the clutches of those whom she once had though of as friends. Is it a wonder then that she finds herself yearning for a dependable foe with whom she could properly and honestly bargain?

Scouvrel is serving his time under the Balance, back in the fae realm that Allie is desperately trying to reach. And yet, Allie keeps seeing glimpses of him and even seems to hear him whisper:
'Haunt me little Nightmare. Haunt me until I beg you to stop.'
Is it a wonder then, that she finds herself feeling 'incomplete without someone to haunt?'

And did I mention she has no idea what she is doing? No clue whatsoever about what can be done to prevent a war and keep the innocents safe from both twisted fae and twisted humans alike.
But, as she herself put it:
'I was Allie Hunter. A little problem like not having any idea what I was doing wasn't going to stop me.'

Just as fast paced as it's predecessors, this third installment in the Tangled Fae series is even more gripping and addictive. The setting is exquisitely twisted and amazingly beautiful. The story flows like a movie and the characters are so wonderfully fleshed out by now that you cannot help but adore them. And don't even let me get started with the messages between the lines. The little snippets I added here in my review are just a little taste of what is waiting for you within this story.

This is now officially my favorite Fae series ever!
It is dark, twisted and yet so very beautiful; violent and deadly but also full of gentleness and enchanting.

If you are also a fan of all things Faerie!
THIS IS A MUST READ!
And I bet you'll also love it just as much as I did!

Happy reading Bookdragons!
