Royal Dragon Bind by Ward, Ava

My rating: 5 sensual stars

'Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.'

Beautiful, elegant, passionate and sensual - Royal Dragon Bind is all this and much more.

Layla Price’s life isn’t what it should be. Bartending in Seattle sucks, and with a PhD in International Relations but no jobs available, she can’t afford rent, much less pay her student loans. And yet, despite her precarious condition, when a ridiculously hot billionaire shows up at Layla’s favorite art gallery and purchases a priceless Moroccan wrist cuff, gifting it to her with an offer to work for him, Layla's first reaction is a firm:
'My life sucks, but it doesn't suck as bad as that. No f**king thank you.'

There is no denying the attraction she feels towards the mystery guy and Layla is literally left dumbstruck by the way his mere smile completely sweeps her off her feet. As if it bound her heart - all of a sudden - no explanation given. And she is sure that damn cuff he bought and fixed on her wrist did something to her too. Except that Mr. Hot Guy Trouble doesn't want to spill. And before Layla gets the chance to get a drink in his face and show him her pretty ass walking out the door, he makes her a seemingly irresistible offer and ditches her at the table.

'You can take your job and your mystery and your jewelry and just shove the whole damn thing where the sun don't shine.'
That is the only answer Layla is willing to give. But Hot Guy Trouble keeps hunting her dreams, calling for her with a terrible need and passion and revealing a bond that leaves her reeling.

'He was her air as he approached, he was her sky as darkness fell. He was her mate and her master and her slave...
...
Bind to Bind, heart to heart, Dragon to Dragon - and soul to soul. Come to me. Touch the sky.'

The mystery man seemed to have twisted himself inside Layla's mind and body. Like he's dug himself deep inside her and she can't get him out. So Layla tries her damnedest to avoid him despite the intuition that practically screams at her that his offer is what she's supposed to do with her life.

The Red Letter Hotel, where the hot billionaire wants her to work, is an exclusive business shrouded in secrets. And if Layla dares to accept the challenge, her life will jump straight into a whole other ball game. One in which she'll have to be brisk, confident and even a bitch, but be patient and learn like hell. Because the clientele and staff of The Red Letter hotel were made up of people with skills. 'The kind you don't get playing ping-pong.' And Layla's acceptance of the offer would raise a shit storm on all their heads.

Why and how, I'll leave that for you to find out. Suffice it to say that Layla's decision will take her on a journey of self discovery that will cause some serious soul-level conflict. And it will be one full of mystery, passion and most of all sensuality and desire. Treasured, adored, lusted after, or incensed by passion, she will be caught in between mates and choices that will leave her reeling.

Beautifully written, opulent and intriguing, Royal Dragon Bind is one of the most unique reads I have come across. With a perfect balance in between fantasy and romance, it delivers a tale full of sensuality and passion that manages to give that extra little fantasy punch to make it memorable. One that manages to be exquisitely sensual and erotic without any graphic sex.
We get a delicate play of emotions vying for center-stage through a varied cast of wonderfully build and beautifully fleshed out characters. In depth analysis of motives and feelings as well as a passion that is both searing hot and elegantly seductive, combine with a nicely laid out plot full of nice little twists and an almost irresistible mystery.

This is one of those books that allows the reader to get lost within the pages and forget about real life for a little while. It effortlessly draws you in and keeps you reading way into the wee hours of the night. I finished it in one single sitting and am now looking forward to the sequel. Because this one is beauty, elegance and sensuality on a page.

If you love PNR, Royal Dragon Bind would make for an unforgettable read. So go ahead and give it a try.
Happy reading you all
and remember...

It's your road and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.'
