Book Review: Three Mages and a Margarita

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was such a fun and easy read! Snarky, spunky and full of sass.
Keeping a job involves a few simple rules: Arrive on time. Work hard. And don't assault customers.
If only Tori could keep them! Her fiery temper doesn't help at all and she does seem to have a talent to bring out the crazy in people. Pissing people off seemed to be one of her God-given talents and that is NOT a quality you want mentioned on any job application form. Especially when Tori is badly in need of a job.
Broke and recently fired, she answers a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. Asked to do a trial shift, she has to suddenly tend to a very special clientele that seems to be exclusively made up from complete dickheads. And it all goes downhill after that, because of course Tori is an ***hole right back.
Of course she expected to be fired, but instead is offered the job. As it turns out, the clientele likes her spunk. Because the place isn't really a bar, but a guild. And a bartender is expected to follow the guild's number 1 rule:
Don't hit first, but always hit back!
Tori seems to fit in like a glove, except for the fact that she is human. And for the supernatural society, being human seems to be worse than having a contagious disease. Tori could of course quit and find a normal job, where standing up for herself meant getting fired, not barbecued by a pyromage. But the pay is real good and Tori is determined to prove she can fit in, especially when others want her to fail. The three ridiculously hot mages she had drenched with a margarita may or may not have something to do with that, but regardless. Tori is determined to make the best of it all.
Great paced, light and full of spunk, this is one of those books that will keep you turning pages late into the night. A sassy female lead complemented by a great male trio make up a perfect crew of misfits that's bound to grow on you. Cheeky humor and witty banter are guaranteed to make you chuckle and even laugh out loud. And the adventure is awesome!
This is a real fun Urban Fantasy that I'm really happy to have stumbled upon. Perfect for anyone in search of a light and entertaining read.
If you love UF give this a try. It's snarky, spunky and full of sass.
