Loving the Jekyll by Sonja B.

My rating: Rounding this up to 5 dark stars because it was awesome!

A lovely retelling of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with a little Beauty and the Beast sprinkled within.

Isak Jekyll had lived a hard life, trying to escape the sins of his father and safeguarding his family's secret. The beast who resides inside of him, a separate entity, who is hell bent on destroying everything and everyone around them. Blaise Hyde

Filled with anger and a kiss my ass attitude, Blaise is the rebellious type who wants to take the entire world on. Nothing and no one scares him. Not even his own death.

The man and the beast sharing the same body are both resigned to an early and well deserved demise, when a second chance is given, from a completely unexpected source. They are both not only pulled back from death's doors but also transferred into a completely different century and given a new slate. A new life in a place where no one knows them. And no one is after their secret. The catch? Because there's always a catch when deals with powerful beings are made!
The man must make sure both him and his beast get along and no one gets killed by their hands!
A little difficult to accomplish since Blaise has a penchant for completely destroying anyone who pisses him off. And yet, they will both have to get along, if they want to live.

Not a problem for quite a while, since life is much easier in modern days when you are rich and mighty, compared to the rough existence they'd had in the past. And yes! I keep telling they because Isak Jekyll and Blaise Hyde are both great personalities that you simply cannot ignore. Blaise is always there, within Isak's mind, and their dynamic is awesome!

Back to the story, because I digress. Isak and Blaise finally have a new and content life. Until Chasity Nichols enters their life! Blaise instantly sets his sights on Chasity, determined to have no one - not even Isak - stop him from claiming her as his own. And Isak himself isn't unaffected by the beautiful lady either and he finds himself wanting her just as much as his beast.

A mistress of seduction, Chasity Nichols is the best at what she does. She’s her boss's secret weapon to get information from his enemies and destroy them. But this latest assignment might prove to be the hardest one she’s ever faced. Isak Jekyll is like no other. When she looks into his eyes, it’s like someone else or rather, something else, is staring back at her. The things he does to her mind and body have her questioning who or whom, is seducing who?

If Chasity chooses to follow her orders or throws caution in the wind in the welcoming arms of the man she was supposed to help in destroying .... I'll leave that for you to find out.
And then there is Blaise too! Will the woman the beast loves accept even him?
I suspect you already know the answer and yet, the way their story goes down will both take you by surprise and keep you at the edge of your seat wanting to know more.

Fast paced and gripping, Loving the Jekyll is one read you'll find difficult to set down. The characters are fabulous and you are bound to love the man-beast interaction. especially when the beast snarls at the gentleman to not dare and scare their woman away! :D

You are also bound to feel for Chasity and love both Mr. Jekyll's gentlemanly charm, as well as Mr. Hyde's sweet beastly nature! The characters are beautifully drawn!

The only downside of this little tale is the need of a proper editing. And that is the reason for my mention of rounding it up to the 5 stars. Other than that, it is fantastic!
And I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a great fast read.

Happy reading everyone
and may you find all that you need in the pages of a good book.
