Book Review: The Prophecy

My rating: 4 magic stars
A wolf-shifter's anger threatens to lay destruction to all the nine worlds, setting a curse upon the Gods and their descendants. The only hope lies in a prophecy that sets the world's fate onto the shoulders of a single child.
One soul. A descendant of two surviving Asgard Gods, cursed to battle the darkness in every single life, until she defeats it. A child bestowed with the magical abilities of four Gods. 'Beast of fire, seer of the dead, wolf's skin and witch's wisdom all in one.'
Aurora.
Abandoned into the human realm as an infant, for her own safety, and allowed to grow as a normal human girl, with no knowledge whatsoever about her inheritance or true genetical make up, Aurora has not had it easy.
Growing up in foster care life had been unstable at its best for her, but nothing compared to the day she ended up wondering if she were having one hell of a breakdown. All because there’s some big ass wolf shifter and sect that align with him, out to kill her.
First of all, out of the blue, her hands start glowing like white mini stun guns at the ready. Then a pesky raven steals her sandwich and decides to not budge from her shoulder and just a few moments later she ends up almost frying the brains out of a douchebag in her school. With her glowing hands, that seem to have a mind of their own!
And if that weren't enough, she is suddenly faced by four hunky very big intriguing and clearly not human men who decidedly inform her not only that she is a Goddess that reincarnates in each life thinking she’s human but that she is the shieldmaiden of their people as well as their mate. The mate of all four of them that is, even though this particular detail leaves even the sexy hunks confounded.
Because, as one of them openly puts it,
'Not to sound like a dick, but I'm not really on the share a mate with my brothers' bandwagon.'
None of them really are.
But the runes have spoken and the future has been laid out. Aurora is destined to fight in each life to save the people she rules over and the four brothers are destines to be her protectors and mates. And this is why Aurora finds herself dropped off a bridge convinced she is plunging to her death, only to land in Asgard, fulfilling a role she never knew she had and going to a magic academy to train her emerging powers that may destroy the whole world if not kept in check.
Alongside her mates and protectors of course, as well as the sandwich-snatching raven who, as it turns out, can not only talk but also has an incredibly foul mouth. Of course Aurora would rather NOT keep him but Loki gives her no choice.
"You're stuck with me like shit on glue. I'm your familiar gifted to you by the Gods. That egotistical bastard Loki named me after himself. Said I reminded him of himself."
Fast paced and fun filled but also sprinkled with smoking hot scenes The Prophecy is a little page turner I found difficult to set down. Beautiful word-building, fascinating creatures, endearing charm and sweet feeling, this novel has it all. And it makes for a gripping and downright addictive read.
It is not perfect by far and could do with a couple of tweaks here and there, as well as a good editing, but the tale itself is downright irresistible. I already told you, I didn't want to set it down. And now I'm eager to get my hands on a sequel.
The particular style and genre combination the author uses here is unique, charming and irresistible. Great magic, hot sex scenes and a fabulous character interaction - mischievous raven included.
If you're in a mood for a light and fun-filled hot read full of magic and action, give this one here a try and you won't be disappointed.
Happy reading everyone
and may you find all that you need within the pages of a good book.

A mix of Harry Potter and Twilight with a good measure of Norse Mythology, a few touches of Fifty Shades of Grey and a pinch of sci-fi.
