Book Review: The Magic of Us

My rating: 5 sweet stars
“You are the best thing I never knew I needed.”
I've read and loved a few other books by Taylor Delong but this one here really hit the home run for me!
It's the laugh-out-loud, sigh, cry and root for type of fabulous!
And don't even let me get started on West because he is .... Oh my!!! (*dreamy sigh*)
Nellie Sturges is a married woman, having a little baby girl. Stuck in an abysmal marriage to a douchebag that is and trying her best to get the clusterfuck that is her life together and get back on her own two feet.
The day she met West Murrtham over at Murrtham's Tree Farm wasn’t one of her finer moments. In fact. she might have looked like a completely unhinged mother with a penchant for cussing worse than a drunk sailor and a talent for getting herself into embarrassing situations.
West had never been the relationship kind of guy, and he most certainly didn't do kids. They just aren't his jam. But when Nellie falls into his life he might just reconsider both. Nellie's a hot mess and married with a kid, and West can't help being attracted to her, especially since that attraction seems mutual. But friendship is where they both draw the line. Until West finds out about Nellie's crumbling marriage and attempt to divorce. And even more so, until Nellie makes it clear she'd love it if he'd wait for her to be free again.
Nellie's someone worth waiting for so West will bide his time. And if that means having both Nellie and her baby girl staying in his place, so be it. Even if he doesn't do kids, West is determined to give it his best shot be the man they both need. But will he be able to really do it and get passed the fear of being a parent even if his heart is on board?
The Magic of Us is a wonderful slow burn romance with all the feels!
It has a perfect mix of drama and humour, as well as a hell lot of feeling. The characters practically leap off the page (secondary cast included) and their dynamic is fabulous.
And I loved each and every one of them!
If you're looking for a great romance give this one here a try. It's one of those books that will grab you from the very first page and keep you hooked till the very end.
It's fun and heartfelt and leap-of-the-page real!
