My rating: 5 lumpy stars
When my friend Soo recommended this, she said it's short, super cute and fun and also currently free on Kindle. So of course I gave it a try. :)
The Princess & the Penis is a hilarious take of The Princess and The Frog. A fairy tale for grown ups to remind us that keeping our children naive is not always the best path to follow.
King Norwood loved his daughter Amalia so much that he wanted to protect her from all life's dangers, including the greatest danger of all - men. He wanted to keep her as pure as fresh snow until her beauty and innocence attracted a great prince's attention.
And of course all goes according to the plan - because the King's will is the law - and one mighty Prince is chosen for Amalia to wed. Everything was perfect, until one morning, when Amalia came down tired for breakfast and complained:
"There was a lump under my rump all night long.
It seemed to poke and prod me from dusk till dawn."
Of course the king has the mattress replaced. And when the lump still remains, he replaces the whole damn bed. And yet, the lump not only remains but grows and assumes a most peculiar shape.
The queen dropped her fork onto her plate and the king nearly choked on his buttered scone the next morning when the princess described the troublesome lump with a candle, a mushroom and some apples.
And I'm not going to tell you their reaction when the princess discovers it fits perfectly in between her legs. Priceless!
And that is only the beginning!
In his quest of getting rid of the bothersome lump, the king resorts to all sorts of unconventional measures that involve doctors, wizards, priests and even a few liberal aunts, as well as a lot of hilarious puns that are guaranteed to have you chuckling and even laugh out loud at times.
The best bet would be for the princess to ambush the penis on her own, but... there's more to this penis than meets the eye. Because after all, it's not the size that matters, though that could certainly be an important factor. It's the princely manner that should always make the difference.
Downright hilarious but also educational, this particular read about the princess's phantom phallus, aka lump in the rump , or properly called "penis" is guaranteed to lift your spirits.
Basic knowledge comes hand in hand with being responsible and safe and this short story reminds us it needs to be imparted.
Well, unless you might want to end up smacking apples that is. :D In which case a good douse with some holy water might just help.
Read this book people. And always remember, ignorance is NOT bliss!
