1. Her Badass Bikers by Tirza Schaefer 

Sinfully sexy and wickedly funny, this is hands down my all-time favourite steamy romance. 

It’s a unique contemporary reverse harem tale full of heart, that dares to be different and skirts the edges of the ‘ordinary’ playing right into the genre-bender category. And it does it in style. It delivers with a bam the usual steamy action, typical to the RH genre, both in between as well as out of the sheets, alongside the dark biker style drama any fan craves, complete with fast paced action full of unexpected twists. But it branches a bit out into psychology and spirituality in such a subtle and beautifully done manner that you don’t realise where one ends and the other begins. 

A middle aged woman is given a second chance at love with not one but four badass bikers. The meanest most infamous bikers of the Hawaii Makani MC. Jax, Liam, Mace and Snubbs – all four of them broken in a way or another and you’ll be hard-pressed to choose a favourite. 

Throw in a psychopathic villain, a SWAT team and a bit of police action with twists guaranteed to keep you on your toes, add in deeply buried past traumas, two kids you’re bound to fall in love with and a mother whose love and faith might just save the day and you’re just scratching the surface of this badass awesome read. 

The MC's psychological scars are all wonderfully and realistically portrayed to the point that you can easily get into the characters’ heads. And then we have that added layer of spirituality subtly embedded throughout the tale, all beautifully balanced with an irresistible humour that you’re bound to remember long after turning the last page. 

The smut over here is the ‘holy frigging shirt hot as hell’ type! Not because it’s rough and a lot! But because it is of a sensuality that’s FIRE!  

2. It Ain't Me, Babe by Tillie Cole 

 Not your typical biker romance, this book and series as a whole is dark and gritty, and in parts, taboo. 

Inspired by real events personally told to the author by survivors of ex-members from several NRM’s (New Religious Movements (NRM’s) - Cults and Sects) and the leaders that abused the power they had over their members—especially the women – this book gives a chance to be heard to victims who are often not given a voice. 

It is a work of fiction, but the doctrines, practices and experiences of the FMC ‘Salome’, her sisters and The Order in this novel are also inspired by several brave women who chose to share their story with the author. And trust me when I say this, those experiences are like a living nightmare. Or don’t trust me and read the book to decide for yourself. 

This is one of the reasons for which It Ain't Me, Babe is at the top of my Best of Steamy Romance List.

Because of the harrowing and disturbing brutality it reveals, that real victims endure. But not only that. This book is dark and twisted, gritty and raw, suspenseful and even shocking, with chemistry that’s off the charts and a love that’s incredibly sweet. In a rough biker manner of course. 

And yes. The smut is as hot as it gets! 

3. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward 

Damn if I know how to rate this one! This is exactly what I thought after reading this book. Because: 

Predictable – check ✔ 

Major prick as MC - double check ✔✔ 

Female characters I just don't get - ✔ 

Eye rolling scenes and situations – double check ✔✔ 

Insta love that borders onto ridiculous – triple damn check ✔✔✔ 

 And yet despite all that: I couldn’t stop reading it!! 

This is the perfect ‘I can’t believe I’ve read this and I loved it!!!’ type of book. 

The entertainment factor is as high as it gets. The plot is great, despite not being original and the romance, despite being a major insta-love cliché filled one that I usually resent, is actually quite fun to read. And the smut gets all the checks. 

With each book better than the other, this series ended up on my shelf of all-time favourite comfort reads. 

4. Ties That Bind by Jayne Lockwood 

Dark, twisted and with a cartload of triggers, this last instalment of the Switchblade series is a dark, and hot AF, MM polyamorous tale of redemption, in which pain and sorrow are nicely balanced with smiles and laughter. 

A tale of mistakes made and risks taken, boundaries crossed and loyalties tested, strength proven and forgiveness granted. It is a love story of not one but 4 people that will tug on all your heartstrings and make you want more. Fabulous characters and a fast-paced plot with nicely upped tension and twists you won't see coming, complete with a last line that may probably have you questioning your sanity, smoking hot smut and a hell lot of feeling, this book delivers on all counts. 

Bold and downright ballsy, gripping and addictive, Ties That Bind is the fix for any reader craving a badass dark and twisted read with a side of fun and sweet, and a large extra of smoking hot smut. 

Yep. Don’t even get me started on the smut! Because that's the 'I need a cold shower!' kind of freaking hot. MM, MF, MMM, or MMF, you can take your pick. This book has it all. And of the best kind. 

5. Dating-ish by Penny Reid 

This 6th book of Knitting in the City is perfectly well read as a standalone. This one will have you laughing and crying, swooning and wanting, and quite possibly leave you with a bit of a book hangover. Because it’s not just a plain rom-com. It’s heartfelt and intense, sweet and sensual, and a downright incredible chemistry alongside that hot smut. 

It’s a book about friendships forged in yarn, with imperfect and flawed and completely relatable characters that will give you all the happy feels.  

6. Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson 

A contemporary neighbour from hell then best friends finally morphing into lovers with a wonderful feel-good vibe to it. 

Charming, witty and fun, even a tiny bit cheesy at times, this is one book that will have you literally laughing out loud. And fanning yourself too, because that steam is HOT!!!   

7. The Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby 

This one’s a fucked up moral compass; read at your own risk type of book. With triggers galore, it’s one I wouldn’t recommend to any sensitive reader out there. 

She’s a serial killer, he’s an FBI agent trying to find her. If Dexter and Criminal Minds had a smutty baby, this would be it. 

Twisted, dark, hot AF and absolutely brilliant.  

8. Off the Clock by Roni Loren 

 Off the charts chemistry and the hottest game of hide and seek ever will be the least you can expect from this contemporary romance/erotica. This book explores the difference in between studying sex and actually having it. 

Deliciously filthy and incredibly fun, this one’s full of passion, feeling and epic smut.  

9. Slow Burn by Autumn Jones Lake 

A refreshing change from the usual MC books, this one has no instant sex and no violence, and the men truly respect the women. This one’s a softer version of MC romance with a wonderful love story and jampacked with emotion. 

One of the best MC romances out there if you ask me. 

10. Him by Sarina Bowen

A beautiful MM sports romance full of feeling. Sweet, fun and all around adorable, with scorching hot chemistry and a swoon worthy romance. 

11. Beauty and the Billionaire by Lauren Landish 

 A ruthless, arrogant, controlling man of billion dollar deals in custom-tailored suits and his pink-haired, anime-loving, data-crunching geek of an employee. 

A fairytale with a side of dirty with twists you won’t see coming and lots of kindle melting smut. 

12. Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid 

 A hot AF MM hockey romance with all the feels. 

This one’s a true enemies-to-lovers story in which the two MCs are huge rivals on the ice while fucking each other's brains out off the ice. 

If swoony hockey players are your thing, this book here is IT.   

13. Act Your Age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert 

This is the kind of read that will get you all hot and bothered but also make you go awww!!! A cold shower may come in handy too at times while reading it. 

This is so much more than a quick, smutty, Daddy read! It’s heartwarming, witty and steamy HOT, but also passionate, exciting, heartbreaking and fun. 

This is the book for you if you’re looking for a steamy wild ride.  

14. Ruthless Creatures by J.T. Geissinger 

A smart and sexy read with kindle melting smut. With a slight instalove and a dramatic finale that will have you reaching straight for book 2, this one’s delicious all around.   

15. Hate by Tate James 

An enemies to lovers dark RH. Thrilling, action packed and super sexy. A real page turner and quite the wild ride.
