Thank you J.R. LaMar! Both my kids and I loved this!!

I have made it a habit to read each day to my boys at bedtime. It is one of the best times of the day, especially if the book is nice. I saw a Starburst to Flames was awesome and both my kids and I had a fun time reading from it each night.

The blurb gives you a pretty good idea what this collection is about.
With nearly 150 poems about everything from flapping ears to dancing pizzas, J.R. LaMar's "I Saw a Starburst to Flames" will take you on an out-of-this-world reading adventure.

What it doesn't tell you however is, the way kids will react to it. From giggles to make pretend, from chuckles to laugh out loud moments, this little collection of loony works has a little something for each little adventurer out there. And for their mommies too. :D

Each poem is different and they all seem a little crazy. But it's a special kind of crazy. A funny one written with a delightful flair and in a lovely rhythm. They are all both humorous and savvy and provokes the children to think outside the box while, at the same time keeping them perfectly engaged. We all know how fast they get bored when a book is 'not nice'. At those times you find it very difficult to hold their attention or keep them reading.
This poetry collection was the opposite of boring for my kids who loved both the, and I quote 'cool poems' as well as the quirky illustrations accompanying them.

Our personal favorite was "All Who Are Thirsty" and even today my little one is trying to mimic the voice of a weak and starving vampire who sounds like a fruit bat that's buried a foot below the ground.
But there were many more that we loved too.

"I Saw a Starburst to Flames" is one of those books meant for children of all ages. You are bound to enjoy it regardless if you're eight or eighty.

Funny, quirky and insightful, this book makes for not only a perfect bedtime story book, but also a perfect experience for children reading it on their own.
You will really find them laughing out loud at the silliness within the pages at times. And you may find it hard to keep a straight face too.

If you're on the lookout for a new bookish gift for your little ones, grab this book!
I guarantee you won't regret it.
