Thank you J.R. Lamar. This was an awesome read.

I read it with my boys while we were in the hospital, waiting to go home after a surgery. And we all know how cranky ill children are. How difficult to please.
You need to bring forth something really special to grab their attention in such a case and keep them happy. This book rose to the occasion.

I'm going to quote my little 10 year old and let you know what he thought about it:
"This is a pretty cool book. Awesome!"

And mommy here loved it just as much as her boys did.
J.R. LaMar gives us here a collection of funny poems that span the world. From Lost Angeles to Sydney and Cape Town to Split; a whole new world will unfold before your very eyes. A world where locks lose their power and yo-yo’s can swing, where cities can walk, and cave walls can sing.
And the best part about it is that it's all not only funny and endearing and easily rhyming, but also beautifully complemented by great drawings. A perfect combination for young readers, who will neither get bored nor loose interest.

Our favorite was Chichen Itza, Chicken Palace. Especially because of that very plausible reason for which the Mayan's must have gone.

My guess is that they couldn't keep
The chickens off their lawn

This made my kiddos laugh so much, despite the hospital and all the other dreary stuff. And yes. I admit, it made me crack up a little too.

In Waco it's Wacko and Entered in the Santa Cruise came second and third and we did love the rest of the poems too.

The nicely flowing rhymes and funny content make the poems easy to follow and repeat and as a parent I loved the fact they all were accompanied by little "Did you know?" snippets that gave a little bit of knowledge to my children with every turned page.

I highly recommend this lovely collection to all little adventurers out there, as well as to all parents in search of something meaningful and fun for their children's bookish collection.
