Fate of Wizardoms Boxed Set by Kohanek, Jeffrey L.

My rating: 5 daring stars

for
an epic fantasy adventure filled with magic, intrigue, schemes, and betrayal.

1,000 pages of magic, intrigue, & adventure, where wizards rule and magic reigns supreme. Several threads of separate misfits from completely different backgrounds are masterfully woven together into an irresistible tale full of magic, adventure and heart!
Heartbreaking at times and uplifting at others, this riveting tale has all the marks of a fabulous read.

While Eye of Obscurance is more daring action and adventure the likes of Six of Crows, the sequels change the note and slowly but surely turn the tale into an epic fantasy perfect for fans of Wheel of Time or Riyria Chronicles.

I loved the take on magic, as well as the conundrum it raises.
'Perhaps men lose their humanity, squeezed by human suffering on one side and the lure of unlimited unchallenged power on the other.'

The intricacies of the plot are top notch and the reveals.... - talk about a solid punch you didn't see coming. Most of them are the 'Holy frigging shirt!- type'.
And then there is that attention to detail and masterful intricacy that this author pulls like a charm. From word-building to pace, from darkness to light, everything is beautifully balanced. The tension is masterfully softened whenever it becomes too much, with a bit of light banter or chuckle worthy moments.

There is something about Jeffrey L. Kohanek's writing that makes you forget the world around you, and get lost within the pages of his tale.

The Fate of Wizardoms is an engaging epic fantasy series with something for every single reader out there. Wonderful wordbuilding, an ingenious magic system, beautifully crafted characters, great mystery and intrigue, witty banter and fun filled adventure, as well as dash of romance.

It is a wonderful and gripping tale that I highly recommend to all fantasy lovers out there.
