Deceased Estate by Nick Moseley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It grabbed me from the very first page and I just couldn't stop reading till I reached the very end!

Trev needs to sacrifice his Sunday, his traditional day of rest, to help out his grandfather and investigate a suspected supernatural incident in a graveyard. The Custodians’ resources are spread thinly and Trev finds himself roped in to help, despite his reluctance to go anywhere near the spooky shit . Because if he doesn't keep involving himself, the supernatural will hopefully leave him alone. Or so Trev hopes!!

The job should be easy since Trev even gets a mighty sidekick: Oscar, Granddad’s black and white tomcat who offers to accompany him as guide and helper. Unfortunately, nothing is as it seems and this time, the duo may have bitten a tiny bit more then they can chew.

There is a great twist in the story, that I didn't see coming! And the mystery kept me on my toes till the very end.

The highlight of this short read however, was the Trev-Oscar banter. I swear these two could crack up the most serious reader with their insults and retorts!

'Trev, is it offensive if I call you a drooling moron?' Oscar asked.
'I'd be quite offended, yes.
'No, no', Oscar said. 'I was asking if drooling morons would be offended at being compared to you.'

Now would you blame Trev for considering punching "the furry little chap"?!
‘Call me a “furry little chap” again and I’ll crap in your cornflakes,’ growled Oscar

A short, fun and supernatural-action-filled read that nicely complements the events of Location, Location, Damnation. This will also give first time readers of Nick Moseley a good taste of what his series is like.

I highly recommend it to all lovers of Urban Fantasy in search of a good read.
Happy reading! :)
